And yes, I’ve replaced the battery in the remote.
For quite a while, my keyless entry has not worked. At first it was intermittent with working and then became not functional altogether. The rocker switch on the inside works fine as does the rear window and its accompanying dash switch. I’m calling the local Toyota dealer tomorrow morning but is there anything else I should check before I call?
4Runners that look better than mine for your time
Oh my that blue. I need it.

I just know it’s a common issue for GM remotes, but it might be the contact rubber worn out. Open up the remote, and try to short the gold contacts on the PCB. I just had one of my remotes fixed like this.

They’re actual physical buttons underneath the case.

The keys work it’s just the remote fob that doesn’t.

I’m glad you got it, I feel like a lot of people wouldn’t.

Oh god. I was doing a GIS for Ray Wert “dragonning” a car, and the gif of an actual dragon dragonning a car, and I accidentally came across a YouTube still of an actual man actually dragonning a car.
That was... unpleasant. Lol.

Maybe your car is just trying force it’s ideology on you. It might have converted to Keyism when you’ve had your back turned.

“Key-less?” What sorcery be that?

I had the same problem, do you have the RS3000 factory security system?

I don’t believe so. My key fob is different and there’s no security light.

It’s this one.

yeah, that looks like mine, but a few more buttons.. Just replace the battery and reprogram and your set. Should be the same reprogram procedure as is described in the links I sent or you could just replace it, I think mine was $50

I would try another fob but I don’t have it. I’ll have to ask who I bought it from

I just bought a new one and programed it myself
![]() 10/08/2016 at 01:07 |

Well those appear to be on their way to that status...they are basically metal sticks at this point
![]() 10/08/2016 at 01:08 |

I’ll probably end up doing that but I at least want to see if I can track down the other one.

Are your door lock actuators good? If yes, then reprogram the remote, if no, try the actuators, they go bad once in a while.

Yeah they work with the rocker switch on the interior. I figured I’d try a new battery before I got a new remote and that was the issue. I don’t know if my remote eats batteries, or if I just got a bad one, but it lasted less than 4 months.
